I was enjoying the Enchanted OST just the other day (and every other day), and if you think the lighthearted lyrics and melodies brought good cheer, wait till you hear the instrumental tracks in the latter part of the album. They’re beautiful
Especially the french horns in the Enchanted Suite. Gosh I can cry!
It’s something about beauty — it lifts your spirit. It doesn’t need words, reasoning, it doesn’t even have to be tangible. Beauty gives life. Take time today to admire something beautiful — the sunrise, or sunset, the flowers you pass by, the clouds, and anything else that you find beautiful, and thank God for that beauty.

you can hang a new batch of clothes out to dry even though there are already clothes being hung out at the balcony that are not dry?
Well I didn’t. It didn’t occur to me that I could have hung the wet clothes at the same balcony, along with the other un-dry clothes. They took up all the known space on the poles and so I decided that there was no space to hang the then-newly washed clothes. And so I left them in the washing machine for the rest of the evening! Eventually (after about five hours), I realised that hey! I can squeeze these clothes a little, and use the other unused poles! I did, and also discovered that the not-so-newly-washed clothes already smell like smelly shoes.
I hope that the sun will be really bright tomorrow and shine the smell away. But of course, if you hang out with me and notice some smell that’s like smelly shoes and yet not quite, you’ll know what it’s about.
And love me anyway! Cos at least I’m honest right, and the lesson to learn is to think beyond the lousy excuse you give yourself for not doing something and explore alternative ways to get that something done instead of not doing anything.
I bought the soundtrack for Enchanted, one of the happiest movies I’ve seen! The first half of it features the songs they sang in the movie, and the second half is instrumental. Listening to it brings to mind all those really funny scenes.
e.g. Giselle, lost in NYC, shoved around by the crowd in her huge wedding gown when a very short man shuffles out from under her big skirt.
Man:(disgruntled) Watch it, will ya?!
Giselle: (relieved) Grumpy!
Anyway. Enjoyed the music so far, I really really like the Happy Working Song:
“You can do a lot
When you’ve got
Such a happy working tune to hum
While you’re sponging up
The soapy scum!”
dumdidumdidum…!
I’ve “moved” to sleep in my bedroom. I’ve been sleeping in mum’s room for the longest time and I think it’s time for me to “move out on my own”. It’s pretty cosy now that the room’s being lived in, instead of being my storeroom. I even bought the Magic Duster to rid the dustiness off my shelves!
I look forward to deep times of refreshing and intimacy with God here.

Hong Kong’s one of my favourite places in the world — probably not because she has all the nice people or the quiet, peaceful, resting environment… she’s not all that, but she let’s me have lots of space to myself.
The trip was great, i’m so glad to have caught up with old friends, hear stories from my host about living, and of course, shopping!
I did an interview with my final participant this morning at the FSC. She was late for an hour! and kind Rach replied to my whiney sms with “be patient and merciful, we can be like that too!” I thought that was great:) Just give it to me, don’t have to be emphatic when I’m just whining. And so I decided to be patient and merciful, which wasn’t difficult at all really because her daughter was lovely, and she was quite sheepish about being late.
I had to allow her friend to be present as well, because she was shy and afraid that she might not be able to understand my questions. I was trying to appreciate the friend’s presence and waited to get a response from the participant herself even when she wasn’t sure what to say. ok lar, it was not bad, and lasted 53 mins, one of the shorter ones!
Trascribing beckons…
My suitcase lies there open, begging me to just unpack the little trinkets and close him once and for all. The mess on my desk mock me for my tardiness and I stare at them unfazed. Aiyar ok la. I’ll go pack my stuff.
Welfare Econs taunts me in the background, “you don’t know me at all…and you have a test on Mondayyyy…*evil laughter*” How like that?
